My favorite movie genre is Romantic Comedies and I was just talking to my daughter about how they really don't make them like they used to anymore. I hate to sound like an oldie saying that lol but it's true.
Give me something like While You Were Sleeping (or any romcom with Sandra Bullock really) or How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days please!
Idk I just haven't seen anything in a long while that makes you just kick your feet up like crazy lol. I think the last real Rom Com I've watched is Leap Year with Amy Adams.
Anyway, what are your fave romcoms?
:cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

I have quite a few that I either really liked or loved...

Never Been Kissed (LOVE DREW!!)
50 First Dates
The Wedding Singer
Blended is another one with Drew and Adam that I watched not too long ago, it was pretty good!
Ever After
10 Things I Hate About You - more of a teen movie but LOVE Heather Ledger in it...RIP Heath :(
A Knight's Tale - more Heath :heartpumpred:
13 Going on 30
The Princess Bride
Empire Records - LOVE the soundtrack for the movie...I have watched it at least 10 times...I miss the 90's!!
Legally Blonde
Clueless
16 Candles
How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days (you already mentioned)
Sweet Home Alabama
Groundhog Day
She's All That - more teen stuff, but my brain thinks I am still 16 years old so...yeah...lol
A Cinderella Story
You've Got Mail
Freaky Friday - the 2003 one :)

I'm more of a mystery buff myself. But, I loved "While You Were Sleeping." "Sweet Home Alabama" is a top favorite and I've seen it several times. I am an oldie, and I agree, they don't make them like they used to. :)

I just rewatched a newer romcom starring Anne Hathaway called The Idea Of You on Prime and it was pretty good.

I am an oldie too but I hate to sound like it :spinningchair: I told my son "how you like them apples" the other day and he thought it was the corniest thing ever :floorlaugh:

Love romcoms too. Meg Ryan was my favorite.
Sleepless in Seattle
You Got Mail
French Kiss
IQ
Kate and Leopold

And my all time favorite: Notting Hill. Julia Roberts is another favorite.

Guess it's more teen movies, but:
Say Anything
10 Reasons to Hate You
Pump Up The Volume

Romantic comedies are always good if you want to switch off and relax. I have many favorites, including oldies. After all, I'm an oldie from the last century myself. LOL. But Leap Year, Notting Hill and The Holiday are in my top 10.

Ladies, I am MILDLY disappointed in you, we are NOT old, we are merely chronologically advanced:
I never get tired of Sweet Home Alabama, 13 Going On 30, and most of the others mentioned but Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman, Chocolat, Neverland, and Pirates of the Carribbean are personal faves.

Mystery and drama are my favorite genre generally, but a lot of those I end up finishing in my own when I get the dreaded critics review of "what kind of a (weird, stupid, slow) movie we watching anyway ? from hubs. Sometimes it's not even verbal it's the sigh or the snore.

Yes, chronologically advanced; love that! I also love Dirty Dancing, an all-time fave!! I'm getting forgetful in my advanced chronological state!! :)

Finally someone said Pretty Woman!!!! I love that movie!!!!! Could probably quote the whole thing!

I too love romcoms. But "The idea of you" to my mind more than romcom it was drama romance, Anne acted so childish and insecure, and then pausing the relationship for 5 years, it seemed like a rehash of "The Rebound" to my mind, only that "The Rebound" was much funnier, being honest I expected more.

I LOVE Hallmark movies too! and you've got mail and Leap year are some of my very faves, actually I scrapped a page about Leap year
I am not sure if I have watched Leap Year yet...I am going to have to start it to find out...LOL You MUST love it to make a beautiful page about it! :heartpumplove:

@pachimac I agree about Johnny...he is just MAGICAL...and freakin' hawt...:giggle4: I have loved him and his acting for a long time...at one point my family put up a Pirates of the Caribbean (may have spelled that incorrectly, sorry, if so) poster on the inside door of one of my kitchen cabinets (and I think I mentioned this before, as well....lol), and we moved a few times after that and I made sure to tape it back up on the inside one of the kitchen cupboards because it was just SO funny to me that they had done that...and it was eye candy. I have no clue where that poster ended up when we bought our current house 6 years ago...I miss it :( Maybe I should just go ahead and put up posters on the inside of the cupboard doors of everything I love...movies, rock bands, K-pop... Ooooo...that is kind of a fun idea! Every time you open up any cabinet you see a collage or a poster of something you like...heck, decopauge...THAT would be fun!! I think I will stick with tape though since these are historic cabinets and you never know what might happen in your life...:wardrobehide:
