My brother, followed closely behind by his best friend, who was the last place finisher. Also following are several men from other teams who had already finished the race and wanted to show their support. I wish I could've been there.

Journaling Reads: 583 days after losing your leg to an IED, you ran your first cross-country race. It didnt matter that you placed 125 out of 126. It didnt matter that your time was almost 20 minutes slower than the last time you ran that course 4 years earlier. What mattered was that you ran. You showed everyone present that no matter how bad things seem, we should never give up. You inspired them. You inspire me.
