You Gave Me Wings

The Week 3 Art Journaling Challenge has been posted. Our word prompt for August is SERENITY. For Week 3 ~ I created a layout that depicts a dancer trying "to let it go". The dancer has the wings on this week. I also used the word peace on my page. The word strips, of course, are a nod to Chuck. He did give me wings, many times.

I used Faded Dreams by Lynne Anzelc, Big Moments Wings by mixed media by erin. and Word Strips by Karen Schulz: Because You Loved Me by Karen Schulz.

I knew where the wings came from before reading this. Then instantly teared up reading your description and how Chuck gave you wings, and I think still giving you wings. Such a powerful AJ piece. I see you as the ballerina and the fiery red hair matches the personality of determination. The wings are beautiful and appear to be helping hold her up, like Chuck holds you up. This is so beautiful and powerful. :heartpumppink:

I had to wait for a few minutes before I responded, Tracy. When I started thinking about all the times Chuck held me up, I started getting emotional. All of the words in this song are SO representative of what our relationship was like. He was my voice when Icouldn't speak a few times, too. Such a powerful song. You're right - he's still holding me up. You saw his picture right behind my laptop. I talk to him all the time. :heartpumpred: :heartpumpred: :heartpumpred:

Oh, Cheryl! What a beautiful and touching layout this is! You are such a strong and beautiful woman inside and out. You have shown such grace and strength in the midst of such heartbreaking sorrow.

Thank you for your sweet and touching comments, Evelyn. I have certainly been helped, in my journey, by all of you, my wonderful friends here at Oscraps. :heartpumpred: :heartpumpred: :heartpumpred:
