Yearly Visit

Journaling reads: From the time Rachel was born, my mom and dad have come out for a visit at the end of August each year. Each time they come out it reinforces in my mind just how much I miss having them close. The closer is gets to their leaving to go home the more my heart aches that I cant see them everyday. It makes me equally as sad that Rachel doesnt have Grandparents she can see whenever she wants.

oooohhhhh.....we are in the same position with our DD's family...2,000+ miles away...3 time zones. We try to visit them twice a year, but now, when her DH is leaving the country for a week (job), and she is 8+ months pregnant and w/b home with 4 children (home-schooling 2 of them), I wish so much we lived near by. What a precious, happy/sad LO.

I share the same sentiment! My parents are living in another country and although I do try and visit every summer, I just wish they were around the corner so that my boys have easy access to them. Thank god for FaceTime as my dad do check up on them every week! Still, can't beat seeing face to face!

Such a beautiful page - full of love and sadness. After our children were born, we never lived closer than 1,200 miles from our parents. It still breaks my heart to think about it - after all these years.
