WildFlower Center

The Lady Bird Johnson WildFlower Center held its annual volunteer thank you happy hour on October 30th. The center at this time of year has an aura of faded beauty. Yet many plants, shrubs and grasses still are vibrant in their decay. The milk weed meadow was almost past bloom, but the butterflies, bees and moths were still buzzing around. (The happy hour was later this year, so I missed the Monarch migration by two weeks, dang it.) Y'all know I'm not a good photog, but these iPad snaps were kinda decent.

Process:
I took lots of photos on my recent trip to the LadyBird Johnson WildFlower Center. Using templates is an easy way to showcase multiple photos. I opened up the template 5 from Project Template Album No. 3G, placed my photos and clipped my photos to the masks. I enlarged the largest background mask to show more of pond. I added leaf transfers from APP Cider on the right side to balance the layout and recolored them. I added a charm, a few butterflies and MultiMedia branches as accents. Final touch was the title and date.

Thanks for looking.
It's nice to still see some colour, our gardens are all dead... :( You've captured a great selection from the Wildflower Center and I love the little butterfly element!

I love your choice of elements and the placement of photos with complimentary colours opposite each other.

Beautiful wildflowers! Everything here is either brown or dead. Can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm looking forward to the snow when everything will be pristine! Wonderful page, Christy!

It's a dream of mine to volunteer at a public garden :) There's always something beautiful to see in a garden...lovely photos!

wow I am surprised that the flowers still bloom so beautifully at the end of October ... love the little butterfly
Great page design and big kudos for your volunteering.

Someday I will get there. I love the fading time of year, and especially the sound of the drying grasses. This is lovely.
