All of my married life, I've listened to people who expect gifts for certain holidays...birthdays, Christmas, Valentines Day, Anniversaries, etc...
I'm just not one of them. I know that my dh isn't either, so if we choose do something, or what we choose doesn't mean that we love one another more or less. That is not what love is to me. Love is something that we show every day. This is for my dh!!
