The Process
I began with the selection of a solid paper from AP Frozen Paperier. Using frames, elements, the foto glow and magic sprinklez from AP Frozen Elements 1, I began building my photo. I clipped the foto glow to the leaves and moved the elements around. I was inspired by Adyrane's page "Watch Out" and painted over the pea coat of the photo by creating a layer above my photo and changing the blending mode to multiply to allow the texture to show through. I used the banner from AP Wanderlust, but wanted a more patriotic flair to it and clipped a paper from AP Red White Blue to it and reduced the opacity to dull the blue. I have a newspaper clipping from 1946 announcing my father's homecoming from WWII. It was yellowed so I changed it to black and white, increased the contrast, and using the magic wand brush, I deleted the white background. This was layered over a transfer from AP Frozen. I duplicated the magic sprinklez stars and scattered them around the page. I hid a layer of text from Scary WordArt 1, just leaving hello and the stains. Buttons, stitchez, loops, title and transfers were added to finish the page.
