Our family tree...is well...mangled. Well, maybe I should choose a more positive word. How about, dynamic? That works! Regardless, we are a family nonetheless!
Journaling reads: Same hair? No. Kyle has brown hair, Kaley has blonde. Same eyes? Nope. Kyle has hazel eyes, Kaley has blue. Not the same nose, not the same ears, heck, youre not even from the same gene pool. Theres no chance in the world that anyone looking at you two would guess that you are related. Nana and Papa opened their hearts and their home and adopted Kaleys mom when she was six, and Kyles mom when she was eleven. But even though our family tree may be a forest of different trees as opposed to a single species, you two are incredibly lucky to have one very special thing in common. A family that loves unconditionally, no matter where youve come from or where youve been. The relationship dynamic that weve got going on may be a bit twisted, but we are in fact a family. Just because we dont fit any standard definition or societys ideal doesnt make us any less so. We may not have a long history, but weve planted seeds that hopefully the two of you will be proud enough to carry on and strengthen as the years go by. I hope and pray that you will always remember that the love of a family, even one like ours, is one of Gods greatest blessings.
