I scanned one of my sketches I did from way, way, way back in high school to use for this layout. It is really wonderful that a few of these portraits survived the years and i still have them. A little piece of the me i used to be. I think Id like to bring her out again.

Notes: The portrait was drawn on parchment paper and over the years it yellowed, faded and wrinkled, but with the magic of Photoshop, I brought it back to life. I used tissue texture brushes to extend the wrinkles of the paper outward from the frame mask after I clipped the drawing into place. Using a PS brush, I colored the eyes, lips and teeth and blended. A couple of transfers were sandwiched in with the frame layers along with the word art transfer. Solid paper 3 is the foundation.

I recolored the plumes in a complimentary color and grouped the frame layers. Below the group I added the paper and canvas texture brushes from the kit, blending those to Linear Burn. Also underneath the group I added the frame and mask from the kit separately, clipping solid paper 1 to the mask, peeking out from the left of the portrait, and using the Blend Ifs on the mask to give the appearance of it sinking into the background paper. Over the mask and word art transfer the title word art was added along with the art stroke.

Finally the gold ribbon was placed over the thread and it was finished.
