walking stick bug

These little bugs are so fascinating. My husband found one on our door post and showed it to our son. I didn't grow up around these, and I was surprised they use camouflage.

Words read:
"bugs are best shared with a boy"
"8/24/2009 Today the exploration team spied a walking stick on the door post."

Sorry for the long list of credits... I used tons of stuff from all different kits:

by Catherine Designs:

butterfly (Woodland Retreat

Greenery, beetle, praying mantis by Holliewood Studios (Junkyard)
wire mesh by Bisontine & Cinnamon Designs (Cozy Cottage)
border stitch by AmandaR (100% Boy - retired)
grasshopper from June Collab at SunflowerScrap
ant by CreateWings & Holliewood (PlayDays)
Ladybug (on wordart) & pencil by Lily Designs (Red Bird, Boy is a Boy)
lined hole-punched paper by Cinnamon Designs & K Studio (Dirty Denim Collab)
orange tag from Nova Vida Collab at After Five Designs

What a spectacular specimen! Love the enlarged pic and the smaller one of your DH and DS studying it! And all those little embellishments like the magnifying glass are just perfect! Great story page.
