My daughter was given an assignment in pyschology class to be someone else for a time period. SHe and a friend decided to see how others treated soemone who dressed differently. My daughter chose to dress gothic and go to her friends youth group. The response she got at a church blew her away. They then went to Walmart and she felt the same judgements. It changed her life.

the journaling says: Emily,
Today you walked in some elses shoes. You felt the stares, the judgments, the shunning; you felt the pain of being ostracized. It hurt you, it hurt in the deepest part of you. This assignment changed you. Today, you learned something about yourself, as well as something about those who appear different.
In 1 Samuel 16:7, it is written: The Lord does not look at the things that man does. Man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. I think you learned that very thing today. As you felt the judgment of an entire youth group, you began to understand the verse. Daddy and I are so proud of you, baby girl. We love you!
