When I started this travel album, it was with dark backgrounds, and so far I still seem to be gravitating that way. For this page I began with Artsy Paper #3 and collaged three of my photos into it using inverted masking. For the fourth photo, I dragged in Multimedia Element #1 from the Read set and clipped my photo to the page layer. I trimmed out the assembly with element layers from another of the multimedia files. I had some awkward blending edges, but these were disguised with the Book Texture Brushes and various elements (some of which I recolored). To make the washi tape a little more transparent, I used my burn tool to lighten the area of the tape that fell above the overlap line.

Journaling Hkan knew everybody, and everything. He and David bonded immediately over their love of arcane literature, history, and politics, including the details of the assassination of Olaf Palme in 1986. I loved how Hkan was able to answer every single question: That statue? Yes, its located there for a reason, so the Prime Minister has to walk by it every day on the way to work and be reminded that he works for the people of Sweden, not the politicians. Incredibly well connected, Hkan whisked us into some of Stockholms more impossible corners, from Parliament (closed for the weekend, but his contacts at security happily printed out special badges and ran us through the metal detector) to the bowels of a working restaurant to show us the Medieval tunnels below. At lunchtime, when Hkan took us up to his Gamla Stan apartment to have a seat in his living room to catch our breath, we knew that we had just experienced a most personal and unique perspective of this incredible city. Thanks for the unforgettable time, Hkan. --Stockholm, June 30, 2018

Love the design with all the warmth of the hospitality you received and your choice of white text on black.

Youve created a very pleasing collage of photos from your trip. I love the way youve worked them together to make them seamless around the page. A wonderful description of the bonding.
