We left the kids in Zagreb and drove to Venice for the weekend. The hotel was nothing special, but it was within walking distance from the main car park and had the most amazing blue shutters I had ever seen. We didn't have any special plan, other than to have a cappuccino on Piazza di San Marco, which we did. We also visited the Doge Museum and a couple smaller galleries, and had a gondola ride, but mostly we just roamed around and enjoyed the city.
