Tulip Extract

Anna's new ArtPlay Palette, Halcyon, has some of my favorite colors...magenta, purple and hints of turquoise. I added red/pink to the mix for an extra pop of color.

Supplies:

Process notes:
I used ArtsyPaper No. 4 as my base. Because I wanted a more abstract look, I duplicated the page and stretched it out until I liked the look. I placed my red tulip art and softened/blurred the edges using the smudge tool. To give it more abstraction and definition, I brushed in several different colors, both light and dark, using the brushes from the APP. I placed several transfers around the outline of the tulip to achieve a more watercolor look. I added several different colors to the stem to match the overall look I wanted to achieve. Cleaned up stray bits by using the spot-healing bush (J).

Thanks for looking.
I really like your use of the smudge tool. I always forget it's in the toolbox, but with these fabulous results, i'm going to remember. Enjoyed your pop of brightness on my laptop this morning, thanks!

Stunning - love the phototreatment ...thank you for sharing the processnotes ...

I love! a very artistic page! I love the delicacy effect of the tulip that appears like strawberry ice cream escaping from the cone!
