A GIRL (anonymous) OF The Ziegfeld Follies : were a series of elaborate theatrical productions on Broadway from 1907 through 1931.They became a radio program in 1932 and 1936. Inspired by the Folies Bergres of Paris,the Follies were conceived and mounted by the impresario Florenz Ziegfeld (1867-1932),reportedly at the suggestion of his then-wife,the entertainer Anna Held.He was known as the "glorifier of the American girl". Anna lived in Paris.Her vivacious and animated personality proved popular, and her career as a stage performer began to gain momentum.She was soon known for her risqu songs, flirtatious nature and willingness to show her legs on stageShe met Florenz Ziegfeld.The Ziegfeld Follies were high class Vaudeville variety shows.Also famous for many beautiful chorus girls commonly known as Ziegfeld girls.
