This Inspiring Photograph

Late last week my Granddaughter Autumn surprised me by showing me a Snapshot poem she had written about me, inspired by a photo of myself I had never seen before. As far as I know, its the only photo of me with my camera, a Canon AE1. It was taken in the 80s. I was so overwhelmed with emotion when she showed me what she had done, tears welled up. I had no idea! It couldnt have come at a better time, just when I was wondering if I was making any difference to anyone at all. Tears still well up and probably alway will, because its the best gift I have ever gotten.

Process Notes: Starting with artsy paper 1 and turning it on its side to make room for the poem on the right side, I placed the fotoblendz and clipped my photo to it. I duplicated the photo a couple more times and put one on Soft Light and the top copy on Lighten blend modes.

The countryside brush leads from the right side of the photo to the edge of the paper. I recolored it using a color from the palette. I brought in overlays, transfers and brushes from Moorlands, positioning and blending and recoloring in some instances.

Placing the camera brushes, one just above my photo and the other along the bottom right edge, I clipped one with a transfer and recolored the other.

I typed out Autumns poem and created the title and signature over it, using the Blend Ifs. I blended the poem to Color Burn. I added the notebook stamp at the bottom of the poem. Then from the My Camera kit, I used the word stamp along the left side of the page and clipped one to the weathered leaf I had placed at the bottom of the page.

The MultiMedia Leaves and the weed from the kit along with the heart charm from Snapshot finished the page.
This is so precious Barbara how beautiful, I love your layout especially how you have used the elements to cradle the photograph
