The Yellow-headed Blackbird

The male Yellow-headed Blackbird defends a small territory of prime nesting reeds. He may attract up to eight females to nest within his area. ... Because Yellow-headed Blackbirds always build their nests over the water, nestlings sometimes fall in and have to swim short distances to safety.

A beautiful bird! We have lots of red wing blackbirds here, a yellow headed one would be fun to see! Love the earthy colors and wooden elements!

Love the layers and the distribution of wood across the page! The big grass is very effective to the story.

Love how the long grass splits the pages and the the flow of the yellow from left to right.
