Lewis Carroll(1832-1892):In Oxford his talent as a mathematician won him the Christ Church Mathematical Lectureship, which he continued to hold for the next twenty-six years. He was a famous photographer. His preferred model:Alice Liddell (1852-1934), the inspiration for his photos and his main work:Alice in Wonderland.Theres a fantastic collection of images that Charles Dodgson (aka Lewis Carroll, the author of Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through The Looking Glass) took of the little Alices (Alice and her 2 sisters) in his life, looking vivid and languid, sultry and innocent, between the contractions of the cameras shutter.I dont like to judge this man.Carroll photographed Alice from 1856 to 1870.A problem:the behavior of the little girl was troubled by those pictures.Carrols father was the deanery of Christ Church,Oxford and Lewis was become a close friend of the Liddell family.
