Journaling:
We snagged a private tour of the hotel with Suzy Alcott, a spellbinder storyteller. She took us down into the basement and up into the bell tower, telling stories all along the way for two hours. We learned that the charming light fixtures and other appointments are replicas based on old photos. The hotel had been entirely repurposed during WWII by the U.S. Navy. There were also some wonderful and funny ghost stories.
