Here's my layout for 2Peas' digital "de-emphasize a background" challenge. This picture was perfect for the challenge. It's one of those photos that you take while everyone is still opening presents, so there are random people and torn wrapping paper in the background. To de-emphasize it, I ran a Glaussian blur on the background and also did a distort lense correction to add a slight vingette around the edges.

The technology craze seems to start younger and younger these days. Ever since Faith was a tiny baby, she has preferred cell phones and remote controls over her own toys. So needless to say, she was pretty excited when she opened up her new Blackberry for Christmas, and she immediately started texting all of her friends to tell them how cool her Uncle Bryce was for getting it for her. OK... so it isn't a real Blackberry, and thankfully at one and a half she doesn't know what "texting" is yet, but it does light-up and make noise, which makes it pretty cool in her book.
