The Procession

I had to amalgamate two photographs here and I just can't get my cousin to 'sharpen up' but it is what it is and it's all about getting the memory down. It has to be said that my wee cousin who is a year younger than me hated me at this point in our lives - because I had curly hair, she had straight hair and she wanted curly hair...hello much hair pulling!

Credits list
I began with the paper, added additional transfers then positioned the extracted figures on top. I experimented with various blending modes but settled on just duplicating and applying various levels of soft and hard light masking as I went along. On top of the paper is an old photograph of an arch from the town, which I nabbed from the internet; I used colour burn on this which worked well as the quality wasn't great and this gave me the look I wanted. On top I used light leaks and Bokeh for more colour and then finished off with confetti!

Such a fun, fascinating story about the parade and fun fair! This is just beautiful, Fiona with fabulous memories.

Thanks Beverly, it's a bit of a challenge trying to portray a childhood memory, a feeling rather than facts; I remember it as an exciting day full of colour, paper flowers and of course the lights of the amusements and rides at the fun fair!

Love the story and how the background image is colorized. And the confetti to add to the festivity! I totally relate to your story, I had curly hair and a straight nose, but envied my cousin who had straight hair and a turned up nose!
