CLARA BOW(1905-1965):Betty Boop was created with the body,the voice,the character of Clara.Bow was born in Brooklyn.Her mother was diagnosed with "psychosis due to epilepsy".One night Clara awoke with a butcher knife against her throat:the mother had realized her daughter was set for a movie career.Between 1905 and 1923,the Bows lived at least 14 different addresses.The father was often absent,leaving his family without means to survive.Clara took on the emancipated flapper girl character.On the silver screen she found an alternative reality."For the first time in my life I knew there was beauty in the world.She was selected as one of the WAMPAS Baby Stars in 1924. Bow opted for marriage and motherhood, and ended her film career in 1933.
