The Fledglings

Born not along ago in our courtyard. They're honeyeaters. Found a big pot of green and made a nest. Dad is on guard in one photo although he's not doing too good a job of it because Mum is looking rather alarmed. It's only me with my camera though. They have already moved from the original site next to the house to another closer to the fence. As soon as the fledglings can manage it Mum will get them over the fence and into the shrubbery behind.

How lucky you are to have witnessed this! I love all the fledglings I get to see--we have a rotation here in the Spring as the parents try to teach the little guys how to handle our feeders. It's truly a sight to behold. Love how you documented this page. Excellent, and subtle, choice of button, too.
