Because of the nature of how we got together, I can never decide which exactly was our first date. Was it that late-night dinner at KFC Katipunan when you first put your hand on my head and we laced fingers together? That moment when conversation petered out and I remember just looking at our fuzzy reflection on the wall next to us. Was it when we watched Elizabeth, then you gave me a tour of your village, and at the end of the night you lent me your jacket (which was totally ineffectual against the crazy wind and rain that night)? Was it when we watched Episode 1: The Phantom Menace in SM North and we held hands for the first time? Then we talked a long while in your village park and my white jeans got muddy fromthe light drizzle. Or was it after all the craziness and you brought me to Inka Cafe for an afternoon snack after class? That time, without thinking about it, you slid beside me in the booth, which shocked me. We had ordered fried mozarella sticks and you startled me again when you fed me one. To say I was unprepared for "how to" be a couple is an understatement!
Or maybe it was all of them, because it was after all of the above that we found ourselves taking that very deliberate step towards being more than friends, and each other's heart-keeper.
