Susan Devling is one of four women who I am honored to have as lifelong friends. She is one of two that knows me so well we could be sisters. She came to the US Embassy in London from Venezuela not long after I was stationed there in 1979. We lived in opposite directions, but often spent time in each others home. We knew each other so well we could have entire conversations and never speak a word. We loved gardens, stately homes and other historic places, Elizabethan history, dancing and formal balls, shopping, entertaining and fun. Oh, and we both crocheted in front of the TV to relieve stress!
Hamptons Great Hall (on the background) is said to be home to a ghost. In fact, Hampton has several resident ghosts.
