Surf's Up

This is a photo I took of a table top in a restaurant. I've never been surfing (like the sandy beaches better), but it is fun to watch the surfers riding the waves as I sip my margarita!

Process
Artsy paper 4 from APP Summery was used as the foundation of the page. Four different Thin Strips Masks (resized) were layered onto the page. The photo was duplicated 4 times and clipped to the masks. The blending mode of individual masks was changed to color burn, hard light, or left normal. This gave a variety of depth to the photo. The layers were merged together. The merged image was then duplicated with the blending mode changed to screen (reduced opacity). A warm glow was layered between the two merged images with the blending mode changed to color burn for a more intense color. Brush 3 from Surfs Up 1 was stamped onto the page. Artsy paper 1 from APP Quanitville was clipped to the brush, duplicated 2 more times with the blending mode changed to linear burn. The layers were merged together and a layer mask was added. Areas of the stamped brush were erased for better blending. Now the fun began by adding splatters, stains, artstrokes and waves. The page was completed with word art and dimensional embellishments.

Thank you for looking!
Fab use of the new This Strips Masks! Love the warm glow and fun colors! Miki, you've created a wonderful series of Snowbird pages this Winter...I've thoroughly enjoyed all of them!

I've said this before, but your beachy art is absolute favorite. This is stunning.

I got to try it once and couldn't manage to stay on so I could paddle out. Fab page.
