I learned about the bloom of mallows at the nature center and we went to see a little after 5:00 pm. Almost no people and the vast display of plants in bloom was a big delight. Birds seen included hummingbirds and two osprey. It was sunny and not too warm. Perfection for summer. I've always called these marsh mallows, but at least the pink ones are apparently better called swamp rose mallow.
