Journaling reads: When I think about Jeanne, the one word that comes to mind is STRENGTH. Born in Chicago in 1919, she and her family moved to Los Angeles after her father died in 1937. After graduating from college, she set her sights on working for American Airlines. Being declined, at the first interview, her strength didnt let her get discouraged, asking the executive what experience she needed to gain to get the job, and applied 3 times, each time asking what she lacked. Her tenacity kept her sights on this goal, and after a year and a half she got the position she wanted. She ended up running the Ticketing department at LAX - long before computers. This job gave her the opportunity to travel the world, which she did - from France, China, Africa - many different lands. She bought a home for her and her mom at age 35, and cared for her mom until her moms death at age 94. After retirement, she went back to college and got her masters degree, traveled, volunteered and was very active in clubs and activities - saying that retirement gave her different opportunities. Such a strong independent woman, never marrying, but so thrilled and happy where her life took her, embracing changes, never afraid of new experiences.
