Stop raining!

I did this last night when storm Gertrude was battering Scotland and I wanted a page to record that my husband is currently addicted to TV programmes about folk who sell up and move to sunny climates :) and I swear it has rained every day for months...so sick of it!

The photograph was taken with my iPhone and I used a couple of instagram filters to give it a bit more pop. Background paper is from AP Glacial on it is the photograph clipped to a fotoblendz mask from one of Anna's templates and I layered that on top of a couple of Fotoblendz overlays, I then played about with lots of different distressed brushes from both Different strokes 10 and 11 and AP Storm,AP Glacial and AP Chills to get that bleak stormy feel. I also used a water transfer from AP H2o, desaturated, erased round the edges, rudder the opacity and positioned to give exaggerate the feel of water extending out to the title work. Echoing the reflections on the wet pavement I used Suzie's technique for the title work http://annaaspnesdesigns.com/video-add-shadows-to-elements/

Love the effect you have achieved with your tinkering. This is perfect for southern Florida also, also. It has rained astronomical amounts and all are going stir crazy!!

And out of the rain is this gorgeous layout..Adapting to diversity as my Grandma used to say!

Love the light against the dark background and the reflection of the shops in the wet pavement!

This looks great--and loving that reflection of the word. Recently got back from a visit to my daughter in California and...guess what...it rained!

Snap my husband is addicted to those programmes too! Whereabouts in the UK are you? We live in Bournemouth and it's pretty wet and wild here but not as bad as up North. Striking page love the reflection in the wet pavement. Very moody just like the weather!

I understand, and yet I long for that feeling, as we still need so much rain here in northern California :) nice capture and cool title reflection! great use of those different strokes, which are still somewhat eluding me ;-)

It was a dark and stormy night . . . I love what you did with the title. I missed Donna's tutorial and I will check it out. I also love the brush strokes and texturing around the moody photo. I know exactly what you mean, it snowed here for a month straight day and night, we ran out of room to put it and tempers starting flaring.

Love your beautiful page! love the contrast and light and that wonderful title!

My husband's favorite is the Weather Channel! This our third year of packing and migrating to the warmer climates, but we've lots of rain here, too. At least no snow! Beautiful refection and love the dark background and title work!
