wow! this is wonderful!

How lucky you got to see them. I was so interested in your journaling I had to look them up. Found out they migrate from the Arctic to Argentina, crossing your American prairies along the way. What an amazing distance! Farmers used to shoot them because the birds stopped to have a breather on their wheat fields. I wonder if those farmers even knew they were shore birds.
