For this week's aA lift. Poetry isn't my writing forte at all, but I hope the kids will enjoy my attempt to adapt Clement Moore's poem:)

Process: I began this layout by changing the photo to a sketch and then painting back in some of the color per Anns technique. I changed the blend mode to color burn at 75% on four of the layers, leaving one layer normal at 50%. I placed two stains from the new Artsy Transfers Red Suit below before grouping all these layers together. Next, I added four layers from Artsy Transfers Merry Tree_1 and a transfer from ArtPlay Merry Tree and grouped these layers just below the photo group. Above the photo group, I placed an overlay from ArtPlay Merry Tree, an art stroke from ArtPlay Red Suit, and a texture from the new Artsy Transfers Red Suit. I used the new Artsy Transfers Red Suit with pieces from Artsy Transfers Merry Tree to create a band for my journaling. The top right is composed of an art stroke from Artsy Layered Template No. 173, several layers from Artsy Transfers Red Suit_3 and Artsy Transfers Merry Tree_4. The lower right is primarily layers from Artsy Transfer Red Suit_2, one recolored, along with a paint layer from Artsy Transfers Merry Tree_5 and a transfer from ArtPlay MerryTree. I pulled an edge overlay from the Holiday Album Templates and placed it just above the background paper. For the background, I placed an overlay from ArtPlay Santa Nicholas and blended out the portions I didnt want with a layer mask. The paper is from ArtPlay Autumn Soul with a color fill layer on darken blend mode at 75% clipped to it. I then added the buttons and tied them down with threadz. Just below my journaling, I placed a stain and paint layer from Artsy Transfers Merry Tree as well as the Santa from ArtPlay Palette Red Suit. I reduced the opacity of these layers to 25%. For my subtitle, I tried to recreate the look of the background overlay with two fonts: KG Red Hands Outline and Raleway. I added color to the letter H. Poetry is not my writing forte, but I wrote this with Clement Moores poem, The Night Before Christmas, in mind. This is the one part that I will probably revise, although I wont change the form, before I print this layout.
