Sailing to America

In 1859, my great, great grandfather and grandmother, John Parkinson Cowling & Amelia Sully Cowling, boarded an Aurania Cunard Ship in Liverpool England and headed to North America. They landed in Queenstown, New York, before settling in Kansas and raising a family.

I know my sons won't dig through the ancestry research I've done, so I'm making a series of pages with a user-friendly version of the info.

I love your user friendly version of the research. And they will love your pages - so awesome! I love the framing and an awesome background! I hope you add more pages as I would love to know how and why they go to Kansas

What a great idea to do an Executive Summary of the research! I am not into ancestry (one of my daughters is, so we're covered), but I've been doing something similar with the psychosocial history of my family. It's all oral tradition and "things remembered" from various relatives, but I work on it from time to time so the lore doesn't disappear forever when the last storytellers pass on. Sorry to babble on about the concept...I do love the design of your page and that cool piece of baker's twine especially!

Wonderful idea and page! I'd just love to have had someone do this for me. I would never have appreciated the effort that went into it though, if I didn't have to do it myself.
