Process

I was really inspired by this quote that was included in the Roots AP and used it as my journaling and to help me start looking for photos. These photos are some of the first photos I took of my son after I started learning more about photography and remain some of my favorites of him to this day.

I wanted the idea of these little snapshots of my son sort of trickling down my page so I chose my favorite background paperie and cropped it down to the 8.5 x 11 canvas and then created 2x2 clipping masks with stroked white edges for my photos and placed them about my background. Then I brought in a few dimensional elements to give the page some pop.

I combined a portion of word art from the ap, a vellum alpha and a metal ampersand for my title--I thought these textures helped to tie everything together and lent some context to the title as well.
