Process:

In her Artsy Transfers release, Anna often offers transfers that match a portion of the artsy paper in the palette, only with layers that you can move around. For this layout, I located the artsy paper (Inclement No. 4) and the complementary Artsy Transfer (No. 5) and opened the files in the photo bin. My idea was to get some texture easily by building a sandwich with the paper on the bottom and the artsy transfer aligned on the top.

I used two photosone of the mountain scene visible from horseback and one focusing on my horse. I clipped the mountain photo over a light leak on the artsy paper, following the steps that I had read in a recent tutorial on the aA blog, then used a FotoBlendz to collage the horse photo over the mountain photo. I took care to align the riverbank lines in both photos as much as possible so that he transition wouldn't seem jittery.

Next I pulled in the Artsy Transferthe top of the sandwich--to add the rich texture. From there it was a matter of dragging in additional individual bits of texture and transfers as needed from a few of the other Artsy Transfers for more depth, and also to lighten the area under the journalingwhen I go back to a travel journal, I like to be able to read what I wrote! I added the WoodWord and the embellishments and that was that. Thank you for looking (and for reading!).
beautiful blending of the two photos! what a great trip! thanks for sharing the journaling! gorgeous page!

love how you've designed this as if it's from the horse's view. fabulous blending too.
