What can I say about the year 2000? I've forgotten a lot of things. However, there were two very special highlights. We spent the turn of the year at an altitude of 1270 m on the Huber Alm in a wooden house. Deep snow, no neighbors, absolute silence, that was unique in my life. The view of the snow-covered Dolomites was magnificent. And in the summer my brother and sister-in-law asked me if I would like to be the godmother to their child, who was due to be born in 2001. And I said yes. As I write these lines it feels like it was all yesterday... but in reality it is 24 years ago..
