In France, when a child loses a tooth, the tooth fairy (called the 'little mouse' by us in France) comes at night to bring him a coin in exchange for the tooth.
Here is a conversation with my 2nd daughter : she believes that the 'little mouse' is dead, because she never met her...(ps : she never has lost a tooth right now )
