I decided to do a venting layout for this challenge...

Journaling reads: A 4 hour car ride with 2 cranky kids,
their cranky grandmother, and 2 parents
tired of playing peacemaker = a recipe for
disaster. The kids were cranky because they
were overtired, and because they're kids.
My mom? Well, she got her feelings hurt
over some offhand comment one of the kids
made (OK, they're preschoolers- someone
needs to get a grip.) Fitting that it was
raining when we got to Portland, where our
first planned stop was the Rose Test Garden.
My goal for the trip was to get lots of
awesome photographs- no easy task in the
rain! Between the kids struggling with the
umbrella, a still cranky mother, worries
about my DSLR being ruined by the rain,
and jealousy of the probably professional
photographer and his perfect sheltered yet
unobstructed spot (which I'm sure I was
obstructing), I was a wreck. But finally
I got the shot, everyone calmed down, and
we all went on to enjoy the end of our
day.
