Rainbow Row

Some pictures from our trip to Charleston last Friday.

Journaling reads: Rainbow Row is a stretch of homes and buildings one block inland from Waterfront Park. These townhomes in vibrant shades of pinks, yellows, blues, etc. were built in the mid 1700s. These townhomes were once the center of Charleston's commerce and retail district. Originally, the row houses were owned by merchants who lived on the upper floors and used the ground floors for counting rooms and shops. I fell in love with this area immediately, and kept lagging behind Sally, Jeff, and the kids to take gobs of pictures! It's definitely down on my list of places to visit every single time that we're in the city.
