There is a trifle bit of obvious symbolism here. Background: Shes a very wealthy woman, alone, sometime in the late 1950s, early 1960sI think thats about the right time period!
1. The hatto hide everythingshe lives behind a barrier of wealth and pretense
2. a.The cat: Her only companionthe only one she trusts.. (I can almost hear hermeow!)
b. The bowl of caviar: Only the best for her pet.
3. The clock & phone: time-filling functions she attends
4. Mozart statute: another symbol of wealth
5. The bee jewelry: a symbol of her stinging personality
6. The flask: She drinks to ease her inner loneliness
7. The mask: To hide her feelings again
8. The real bee on the title: Kind of creepy.again her stinging, dont touch me attitudety
9. Hat hiding face: hiding personality/inner-self
10. Picture: Portraying her as one-dimensional, of course she isnt, but she gives that appearance.
