Project Template 7-1_Mini Palette Amity Mary Tyler Moore

The Mary Tyler Moore show ran from 1970 to 1977. I remember watching it, in our living room in Bloomfield, and loving Mary, a pretty, intelligent and independent woman living on her own with a career in the 1970s, when I would have been an early teenager. I don’t think I knew at the time, or at least I don’t remember, the setting as being Minneapolis. But it is, and there on Nicolette Malle is a tribute statue to MTM, where I was able to toss up my hat. Dayton’s department store is no longer active, but there is an active “Dayton’s Project” of stories and photos remembering the classic department store.

Background is Mini Palette Amity Artsy Papers.
PTA7 page 1 used for the left, with the frames adjusted for size (and some frames and elements removed).
On the right, the building photo is blended in Overlay Mode with a mask and erasers (3 copies to get the depth of color).
Photo of me and Mary clipped to a frame from ArtPlay Adventure.
The gold "D", for Dayton's, is an extraction I did from floor signage you can still find in the Minneapolis skyways, even though Dayton's department store is closed.
Then I created a Visual Triangle of gold with leaves (multiMedia leaves) and elements from ArtPlay Amity.

I love this! What a wonderful pic of you and Mary. I have very similar memories of MTM show & the character Mary. Such an inspiration to many of us growing up in the '70s. Looks like you had a wonderful trip.

Fun pic of you and MTM! One of my favorite shows at the time. Everything blends in seamlessly!

everything is perfectly articulated . very nice work on the background! I love this big blue spot that revives the whole!

The photo of you throwing your hat next the statue of MTM is priceless. You have the motion down perfectly. I watched that show - this brings back fond memories. Wonderful pages, Diane!
