The first layout with it took me back several years to being a brand new mom. Journaling reads:

My first born. My only son. Born prematurely. A week in the NICU. Myself, a new -- and frightened -- mother of twins. I was afraid to touch you. Afraid to hold you. Not wanting to risk anything with such a fragile being.

Your daddy picked you up and so gently placed you in my arms. There were cords, tubes, and the constant alerting beeps of the machines. I trembled as I held you. And as I reached out to touch you,
you beautiful delicate baby boy, you took my finger. It was as if you were calming me. While it may be a normal infant reflex, to me it was the assurance I needed to be your mom. We were in it together from that moment forward.
