Journaling reads: Eva told me that California has more than its share of chihuahuas up for adoption. Apparently the fad of buying a dog to carry around in your designer tote bag hit the state big time, but when the fashionistas realized that dogs were actual living creatures, with actual needs and personalities, well...the rush to the shelter was equally big time. All of Bukos buddies are from rescue organizations, as is, of course, Buko himself.

Notes in Photoshop Elements 14

I started by clipping my photo into the FotoblendzI liked the dark tones of the texture and paint layers in the Fotoblendz, and I had so much color going on with the text, that I didn't bother recoloring them at the end as I usually do. I added the arrows and the names of the dogs next, then worked in the title and journaling. The beaded threadz from the WordART mix was perfect to describe this fun group of canines, so I layered that on, and then slipped in the HandStitchez behind to make it a little more thready. The background is Brumal Solid Paper #3 over Solid Paper #2 on screen blending mode.
