The boat was modeled after a Japanese pirate ship, so it was fairly interesting to look at. Unfortunately the ferry itself was rather boring, as the scenery was mostly an endless wave of trees. Halfway through we started seeing some golf courses and other aspects of civilization on one side of the lake, at least. We were supposed to have been able to see Mt. Fuji from the ferry, but none of the surrounding mountains seemed tall enough. The provided real-time map didn't seem to have Mt. Fuji on it either, so we had no idea where we were supposed to be looking. But once we got off, we were told to look behind us; it turns out that we couldn't see the mountain because of heavy cloud cover. But it miraculously cleared up at the tail end of the ferry, so we could see the peak
