Picking a Mug

Used the NEW Around Town Notions to help tell my story about my mugs.

my process: Created a background with a paper, 2 artsy transfers & transfers. Rearranged layers, recoloured some and blended layers to accommodate the added elements. Added paper frame & clipped my photo. Made an extraction of my mugs from photo. Placed it with additional Notions elements to build a picture. Added word labels & threads. Finished with journaling.

Thank you! I must admit that I did a little clean up of the cupboard before I took the picture. I hadn't realized just how colourful some of our mugs are until I took the picture.

So true! We have another criteria...we like our mugs to be able to fit under the expresso dispenser :-) But I so agree about the memories associated with mugs. We left a lot of ours behind in Portland, but that doesn't mean the memories are gone. I like this arrangement. I might have had that same Starry Night mug...wonder where it is ;-)

My Starry Night mug is special because I bought it at a Van Gogh exhibit at the Canadian National Museum in 2012. The painting wasn't one of the many Van Gogh artworks at this exhibit but I have fond memories of that trip and the mug is nice for my evening herbal tea. :)

Thanks! I wish I could keep the mug cupboard this tidy. It always seems to be a jumble of mugs piled up. Maybe too many mugs...
