Perfect Pause

Loving the control I have using brushes, tracing and coloring the daffodil with the pen and tablet. Something I couldnt have done with just a mouse. So very glad I took Annas class.

Photo taken with my iPhone

Process Notes: After creating a sketch of my photo, I clipped it to Framed Masks No. 2 leaving it on Normal blend mode, duplicating it and putting the second photo layer on Color Burn, 100% opacity, then clipping the original photo to the sketched photo and blending it with Soft Light at 47% opacity. I placed Artsy Transfer Sojourn underneath, recoloring parts with yellows and blending other parts. I put all this on top of Sojourn Solid Paper 1.

I stained the paper taking colors from the paper and photo, then placed the textured tissue to the right of the sketched photo.

Using a daffodil photo from the internet, I roughly traced around the flower, scribbling in lines and roughly brushing it with colors taken from the original photo, using the pen and tablet, then moving it onto my layout and placing it above my photo.

I added the word art, scribbles, black splatters, then built up the elements along the left side. I placed the branches from APP Neige and Sojourn, recoloring the button to yellow and adding the button threadz.

After placing the Artist Edge, I put Sojourn Solid Paper 5 over the whole page and set the blending mode to Hue, turning the leaves of the Sojourn branch to yellow. And that completed this layout.
This is so stunning! Love the textures and the photo effect! Hope this finds a home on your wall!

Somebody's rocking the pen. :) Love your sketch treatment, the stains, the colors--well, everything really!

Wonderful! Love the sketch! I'm still practicing, but I think you've mastered the pen! Beautiful page!
