The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment issued a wildfire smoke health advisory for northeastern Colorado east of the Divide and north of Interstate 70. The department recommends limiting outdoor activity when moderate to heavy smoke is present, especially for those who suffer from heart disease, respiratory illnesses, the very young and the elderly.

Journaling:
We forgot about the haze of smoke from fires in the Pacific Northwest. That is, until we got up to Rocky Mtn. Nat'l Park for sunrise. It was looking like we were in for a gray day. It was worth the trip when we saw the sun come up as an amazing big red ball through the haze.
