Alzheimer's Disease has a "Gems" model to explain & Categorize stages. Dad stayed in the Diamond wing- very high functioning. Of course to us, he was a diamond anyway. but I appreciate the "definition" of the Ace of Diamonds card: "Diamonds are formed under immense pressure and heat, which reflects the transformative power of challenges and hardships in our lives. They remind us that through adversity, we can emerge stronger, more resilient, and even more valuable."
Though Dad was battling the disease, and was heartbroken to be placed in the home, I saw that he also still tried to encourage others. Strength under pressure.
