Then there are some records of early film appearances, in 1918 as Lucy Vernon in False Ambition and then in 1922 as Stephanie in the historic melodrama based around the great fire of London The Glorious Adventure.( September 1666 - It consumed 13,200 houses, 87 parish churches).The theatres and music halls were an important source of entertainment for the Edwardian British public. Whether rich or poor, young or old, everyone went to the theatre. Postcards featuring the performers of the era were very popular as a result and were collected in some volume. Actresses competed with each other to have the widest range of images photographed and published in postcard form.
