I followed the steps in this tutorial https://dirkpaessler.com/2006/09/06/tutorial-create-your-own-planets/ to make a distorted planet out of my photo. Although the tutorial is written for Real Photoshop, it is quite possible to fudge the same effect in PSE as I did. Next I clipped the altered photo to a Fotoblendz (I chose Fotoblendz with writing layers on them), and positioned it roughly on the page. I added a background paper, and then dragged in a few Fotoblendz on top of the background paper to which I clipped additional papers from the Inclement Paperie.
I added the Word Art next, duplicating it and resetting the blend modes until I got the color and texture that went with my composition.
The embellishments came next, as well as a few stains and a splatter.
As a last touch, I added the tag with the a copy of the unaltered photo clipped to it. Since the documentation aspect of what I create is very important to me, I never feel a layout is finished if the photo appears too altered or abstract.
