On This Day

Journaling: The fog was thick and heavy on the ground and the air was warm. We were enveloped in a quiet world with the only sound of the muffled ocean waves hitting the shore. No one was around on this early morning in Crescent City, California. Bob was determined to fly a kite that morning on the beach, while Jackie and I knew that wasnt going to happen. There was absolutely no wind. It was still. But when Bob made up his mind, nothing was going to change it, not even the weather. Jackie humored him, while I sat on the blanket, digging my toes into the sand, watching his futile attempts. God knows how many times he tried to throw that kite in the air, waiting for a nonexistent updraft to pick it up while Jackie held the guide lines patiently. Over and over again he tried to get that kite up in the air and it crashed equal amount of times, until he finally admitted defeat. Im sure theres a life lesson in this.

Notes: After opening a new 12x12 document, I composited the two photos together. Over the top photo I blended two transfers one over the other to support the fog. Over the transfers I brought in two photo glows from the MM Suns and blended those into the page.

The art strokes, title and journaling were placed and the tissue textures brushes were added to the sand on either side of my feet. They are subtle, but there. That finished the page. I wanted everything to just support the thick fog we were in that morning, with nothing to distract from it.
your feed in the foreground are hilarious and the journeling too.
gorgeous page.
